After showing Leah the river yesterday we thought we'd show her the rest of our backyard out here. A late start waiting for the womenfolk to get ready, then it was straight to the horse paddock. Total tally for the afternoon was 13 Bass to myself, up to 54cm with the fattest 45cm fish I've ever seen, then Leah got a mid 40's and Pam got a Forkie on a blade. She then got a Bass about 35.
As you can see, when trolling I keep to a very strict grid pattern.

Nice fish Dale, is that a wooden handle on the baitcaster?

Yep, Daiwa I'ze Shikki TWS56. Sweetest little outfit you've ever felt.

Was a few of the Sweetwater Crew out on Wivenhoe today. I dropped out for a quick late arvfternoon session after the storms that threatened petered out. Scored a few under 50 on the flats after doing some scouting on some shallow points.
Ironically, after calling Basser on the mobile phone, it looked like they were close to where I took my dad on his last trip back in April/May & he got his PB of 53 (before he died), was also his last fish. I went over & Basser was almost right on dad's last GPS mark, AND he was sitting on fish. 8)
We almost got locked in as the sun was down when we got back to the ramp.... Terry's (the Ranger) was patient & waited the extra five minutes for us to pull out & get past the gate. Thanks Terry... :tick
A great couple of hours on the water.
Cheers,
Fitz..
