Title: NPD overflow event?
Post by: rayke1938 on June 02, 2016, 02:21:40 PM
Text message received from SEQ Water 11.42. 2/6/16
"Seqwaters Flood Operations Centre is on alert due to forecast rainfall in coming days. Gate releases are possible from North Pine Dam.
 Updates will follow.
Buggar another overflow event during spawning season.
But ok for downstream waters put fish back into the south pine.
 Cheers
Ray

I got the same message word for word - except change NPD for Wivenhoe and Somerset. Bit of wet stuff on the way by the looks! Hopefully, as you say Ray, might put some fish back into the downstream rivers (for when the season re-opens, of course).

The closed season only applies to tidal waters now. So will have immediate benefit to non tidal waters,
Reckon we will need more than 200mils for NPD to spill as it is only at 63%  of 80%
Cheers

Got another gun shy notification today. I think we won't see any releases though. Was at Big W this morning and noticed the water level was lower than I've seen for a while.

NPD only rose about 2 inches from the last lot and it is back down again. It hardly got any rain in its catchment yet kurwongbah spilled for a week afterwards.
Cheers
