So, you're paddling along, watching Whales feed on krill when all of a sudden........

That would suck

And he forgot to bring his fishing gear..... I guess it show that the stealth of a kayak can have its disadvantages.

Kayaks make great lures for whales. A couple of 100/0 trebles mounted underneath and the whole show hooked up to a winch mounted on shore. The soft bodied morsel mounted to the lure as a taste teaser never lasts too long however ;D

Not saying it is, but it looks & seems so out there that one could be forgiven for thinking its a photoshop job.
If its true, I bet that paddler won't ever forget that day.

Nice yak but.
Not sure I would be tickling a whales tonsils with my paddle though.

Im going to agree with fitz fairly sure its a photoshop job theres no wake from the yak.... unless he was sitting dead still when it happened... :)

Watched a really good doco on SBS yesterday, all about their feeding habits in that part of the world.
One whale encircles the bait school blowing a net of bubbles, this forces the bait to the surface & the whales come up from below with mouths wide open as in picture. They can do this repeatedly for hours with the same whales surfacing in the same position, awesome animals.
