hey guys just wondering if any one has been to suncoast barra park , or ecopark near gold coast , and whats it like there , on site it says no barrbed hooks can u get special hooks for lures?
-
its around $40 per person im very keen ,sun coast , barra bass murry cod , cant wait , maybe i can press the barbs down with plyers on a couple of lures , as the fish should be released with out harm.

Dont worry about squashing the barbs, never done it or been asked to do it at the Barra park.
Dont even bother with lures, either take live bait or use the hooks and floating pellets they provide. Fish are tough on dead bait or lures as they are hand fed.
Just berley up with heaps of pellets and chuck your pellet with hook in amongst it when they start hitting the berley.
Never fished the eco park, but have only ever seen good reports on them. Its supposed to be a really nice spot to, good for families - the barra park is pretty stark, hole in the ground and dirt banks. Couple of shade shelters is about it.

Yep what he said! Berley the pellets, put then on a small unweighted hook and have fun!

Totally agree with the other boys. Pellets the way too go. Light flurocarbon leader, and really small hooks. Smaller the better. Chuck out a heap of pellets and put ya baited hook in the middle. As soon as they sink change the biat i recon. My best barra there was 88cm. Got a few last time i was there and a jew.
