Pine in Decline
« on: January 07, 2013, 05:53:55 AM »
Up the pine yesterday and although my mate and I got plenty of bass they were all a bit skinny and some had red spots. Most bass taken on beetlespins. Anyway here is a few of them.

Looks like you had a good session there Dino despite the leaness of the fish. This seems to be throughout the whole system south and north. Hopefully the habitat will slowly improve as the council is acting on "fixing" up the riparian vegetation along its banks. I work for a company that has the contract to rehabilitate the north bank from Mungarra Reserve up past the settlement ponds at the end of Affleck Rd. This is part of a 4 year plan by the council to revegetate the flood ravaged banks where apparently the flood level was 9 metres above the current river level. A side bonus is I have found two lures in the flood debris so far with the purple one in my "Xmas New Years session" thread one of them. Cheers Pat.

Yes Pat judging by some of the pics on other sites the bass in a lot of the creeks are doing it a bit hard.
I have been picking up a few lures also in places where the water has gone down a bit.

Sounds like a nice session all the same Dino,

here's a hint, that fish measurer on the side of the yak works a lot better when you hold the fish along it, not across it. Particularly if the fish are skinny!
