With NPD being so slow bass wise I have decided to target Baroon this kids school holidays. However with the recent rise of about 2 foot, the fish have found somewhere else to feed so I am doing it tough at the moment. Cant even catch a fish on shrimp!
Lots of nicely flooded grass I have cast the paint of my poppers over, lots of lilies I have thrashed with lures, all to no avail. even the spangled perch are only half interested. I've even trolled the deep water :-[
I reckon the rise has got them all gorged on tucker and not much interested in a feed.
Never mind I'll crack it sooner or later.
At least the shrimp are making a comeback, pretty small, really only just big enough for bait, but plenty of them.

Thanks for that . I was thinking of going up there on Tuesday or Wednesday as sick of catching Tilapia so looks like I will have to check out Hinze instead.Have been told that new information centre is pretty impressive.
Cheers

Let us know how you go, I might be tempted to go down there next week if they are on the chew. Been a few years since I fished Hinze. I'm off to Baroon for another go tomorrow with daughter in tow.
Thinking of trying the Caboolture river for a shark or two on Tuesday. Give the boys something to squeal like girls over. Nothing quite like an angry bully squirming about on a wet painted wooden floor to get them dancing!

I was up there about 7 days ago , no bass but did spot a couple but i caught a heap of spangled probably about 14 which was fun anyway , pretty new to fishing these dams so was a good day out in my kayak anyway , I seen a big bass hanging around that timber area but couldnt entice him !
