Still Easterns in the Richmond
« on: February 14, 2013, 01:51:17 PM »
I had become concerned in the last couple of years that the cod I know personally in parts of the upper Richmond had not been showing up as regularly as bycatch when bass fishing (still am a bit) - worriedthat meat fishers or those lacking good release techniques may had knocked a few over  :(

Anyway before the flood flow recently past I took a mate kayaking downa reach of the upper Richmond to see if the bass had arrived upstream yet and to see if our cod bycatch rate compared with previous years - happy top say that we found a couple of solid fish (2) but not the half dozen we'd previously encountered in this reach - maybe they've finally worked out what spinner baits are :)) - only bass we encountered were on the small sizebut reckon there could be a few better sized ones there now after the big flood flow we've just experienced :thumbsup
