Title: Any decent land based spots from Twba to Fernvale?
Post by: Freshwater Newby77 on February 16, 2014, 09:05:23 AM
Gidday all.Well, the boy & I have tried Hamon Cove, for a catfish & small yella. On the advice of Gatton tackle shop,we did Lumley's Hill,at Logans Inlet yesterday, for lots of nibbles but no catches.
Next spot will be Cormorant Bay.
Has anyone fished the river, just out of Lowood on the way to Fernvale, with any success?
We are land based only.
Cheers.

I've caught bass on lures off the rocks at Lowood, Lindemans Rd & Twin Bridges.

I don't advise the use of bait in the river due to the number of lungfish there which are totally protected & should be left alone.

Try Shines Road, land based there you could catch a huge bass or yella. Its a steep walk out though,

Cheers

Up hill? More like "down hill" and what a hill it is... that spot is also called Heart Attack Hill for good reason, but go and give it a shot. BTW - you can't go walking along river banks at access points, reserves, roads etc in Qld. As soon as there is private property adjoining the river bank, you're potentially trespassing even though you're not actually on the private property. This stupid land act is to cause...

Anyhow, back on the subject... you've been given enough info to go and catch fish, the rest is up to you from here on in. The best lessons are the ones learned by yourself.

Look forward to your reports.  :thumbsup

Launched from private property between Burtons and Kholo. That was part of a pilot for a TV show were were looking at doing.
