Well , technically , a fishing 'fly' is a type of lure  ;D
How about a poll or something ?
Barney.

I think the introduction of Flys and Fly Tyers would be a natural progression it could be all part of growth of any event.

With Lures  and Flys ( Australian ) if there is still space I can se where Ausie made rods would be popular.

Then a bit of space out in the paddock for casting competitions with both when the customers need a break.

Just some ideas to toss around fellas.

It was pretty awesome and huge amounts of people last year, any chance of moving across the paddock to the bigger building?

Space was the only real issue but hey it was only testing the waters last year  :youbeauty

I will be making as many as i can to bring up but only after i catch up on orders.

I will let you know about a site Fitzy Fishbrain might want to share one.

I'm in trouble, just brought home all the lures I won in the local stocking group Raffle. Wife says, "Gee your lucky, you won all those lures when you wen tout to fernvale last year as well" ,   :o

I'm not going to get away with that excuse again!

It is possible, however doing that will vastly increase the cost of the event, and therefore increase the cost to exhibitors and the public.

Am looking at options like; reducing the depth of displays to increase aisle space. Could have fitted another 15 stalls last year so definately room to grow there.
Also looking at another larger venue in the area.

At days end, it will depend on how much support we get from council.

TP. Yep, have booked the same location for 8 & 9 June.

Have discussed with Expo Hire company regarding making the sites 1800 deep as opposed to the 2400 we had in 2012. This will effectively increase the aisles by 1200mm & address the crowded aisles.

Update

In a nutshell, same site is 99% sure. Have final meeting with Mayor & council reps tomorrow about options so will know more then.

If there is enough demand for sites, I will look at utilising the timber can bar building outside the hall which is owned by the pony club & run the demos / workshops there. And then serve the food from the side door of the kitchen which is under the rear awning covered area. This would allow for more under cover stalls in the same area & reduce the bottleneck around the food serving area inside.

For extra security, there will be a 2m high chainwire security fence erected around the rear of the building.

In these few things, this has added an easy 15 more stall sites to the venue & created more space & flow for the public.

Also, am adding fly tying to the show. While this may only be a very minor part of the show, it does add a little more depth to the event & may attract a few more of the public.

Still no clear decision by council on alternate site. In the meantime I'm working towards the existing site.

Attached is the floor plan I'm working towards.

Major changes include:
-  the seminar / workshop area moved to the drinks bar shed (owned by the equestrian club)
- food serving area open to rear pergola area with more stall sites available under cover
- 2 meter high temporary fence around entire site for safety / security
- Aisle wider by 1200mm
- Redesign for better flow

Yes, it's starting to get close. Just took a few days off to re-charge before the excitement starts......

The exhibitor list has been updated. I didn't think we could fit any more in. Look out for a marquee on the hill to give more space....

I'll be there on the Saturday morning. Really need a couple of big jointed surface lures for a planned trip. I'll leave the kids at home and bring a camera this time, so I have some pics of the second expo when I give the third one a plug next year.

Well sometimes things work out  :youbeauty
I have to be in Toowoomba on Thursday so due to reluctance to return home on Friday it was with deep regret that I had to book an early Sunday morning return flight to Mackay.   :Clap) :Clap) :Clap) :Clap) :Clap) :Clap)
Now I just have to work out how to get my camping gear on the plane, might have to settle with a sleeping bag in the hire car  :'(
See you Saturday at the Expo
