Title: Brisbane River 30/12
Post by: trf74 on December 30, 2013, 12:43:36 PM
Hi All,

Launched this morning near Shines Red in beautiful conditions. Even though I only live up the road, it had been a while and I was keen to see how many bass were around. Stared with my go-to bass lure - Berkeley 3B Puppy Dog in Cerberus (purple) colour. Off the mark with a tilapia (disposed of) and a nice little bass of 36cm which inhaled my lure (see attached pic).

Went quiet so switched to a soft plastic, a Z-Man Grubz 2.5" in electric pink.
Bought these not long ago for flathead (and they work) and thought I'd give them a go. The long curl tail doesn't need much to get going - just a slow roll. The
bass seemed to like it. 3 in no time, all perfectly hooked in the corner of the
mouth. None of massive size, biggest about 35cm. Also watched as one followed the plastic up to about two feet below the
surface, grab it but not hook up. Always great to actually see your lure taken!

Time constraints meant I had to leave not long after, but I'll have another go in
the next few days with these plastics. Might even get a few more colours. They seem to work.

Cheers,
Tim.

Love the 3B range of lures! I have 1 of just about every variety and they are deadly.
