Wanted some tips on bass fishing, like what colors my lures should be, just anything would be greatly appreciated

Yak, I'm sure a search of this forum would come up with lots of answers. But IMO Bass are pretty dull of mind mostly, so anything thrown at them when they're in the mood will get some interest. Purple and black seem to be staple colurs, so start off with that.
Just go fishin' mate............this weekend of course :)

The colour of the lure is definately not as important as where you put the lure. You have to put the lure on the nose of a Bass. To do that you need to study the water and look for places where you think a Bass will be hiding. In the river, you need to remember that these fish are lazy. They won't live in fast flowing water. They will be keeping out of the current. Look for undercut banks, mid current structure, deep holes, eddies etc.

Dont worry about colours mate
Get some spinner baits and some hard bodys.
And your no 1 thing you need is a tackle back. If your not using it well your not trying.

A tackle back is a great idea. Also a extendable pole with a pig tail helps big time for those very random cast ( which we don't do...often )

Put a bucket in the back yard and stand 20 paces away and try and cast the lure in the bucket untill you can do it within a foot of it and your ready for bass fishin :youbeauty

At the other end of the scale becuase i fish small flowing creeks allot eddies and small logs or any disturbance in waters flow often holds bass and will rarely miss an opportunity for an easy feed, Often its a fish a cast

Everything these blokes have said is true, but Bass in lakes will respond differently to Bass in streams. I mainly fish my local streams and find the colours very seldom have anything to do with a productive day. You have to put your lure right where the fish live because there is a small arc around that area that they will not go out of. Get used to skipping casts in under trees and up against lay down logs, and don't assume that because you haven't been hit there's nobody home. Sometimes it pays to annoy them into hitting the lure, so shoot at least 4-6 casts in there. What lure you use depends a lot on where you're fishing, but hard body diving lures are great in most situations. I generally carry 2-3 outfits all rigged differently so I can do a quick change. I'll have a hard body on one, a Beetle spin with a soft plastic on another and maybe a surface lure or vibe on another.
