Title: Billies Bay access one step closer
Post by: Sweetwater on June 18, 2015, 10:24:18 PM
How would everyone like to be able to launch / fish from Billies Bay at Lake Wivenhoe again without all of the stuffing around with club fees, keys, gates etc

The Somerset Regional Council has confirmed that they have secured $750 000 to replace the wooden bridges at Dundas. These bridges have been condemned; this being the main reason that public access has not yet been restored to the northern side of Lake Wivenhoe.

I wouldn't expect to see any change for the best part of a year or more, but it's good news for recreational angling in Qld.  :youbeauty

Will the sailing club get another area to use?

I'm not sure. Ths discussions at one point were for the wind jockeys to keep Hay's Landing & Billies Bay to revert back to tax payer access.
