Title: Borumba Recreation Notice
Post by: Editor on June 28, 2016, 10:06:27 AM
Borumba boat ramp to be temporarily closed for upgrade

Lake Borumba, located near Imbil, is a popular fishing and skiing destination for locals and visitors alike. Feedback received during the recreation review supported an upgrade to the existing boat ramp, improving access to the lake.

With the support of the Department of National Parks, Sport and Racing, the upgrade will include removing the existing single lane boat ramp, constructing a new double lane ramp and establishing a queuing area to the left of the ramp.

We have to close the boat ramp while construction is underway. Works will start Monday 11 July 2016 and take about six weeks to complete, subject to weather conditions and other unexpected delays. We understand the impact this temporary closure will have on recreation visitors and local businesses and we will work to reopen the boat ramp as soon as possible after the upgrade is complete.

The new ramp will be constructed as per Australian Standards and Department of Transport and Mains Roads’ specifications. Once complete, the upgrade will improve accessibility to the lake for boating, fishing, and water sports such as paddling and skiing.
