Title: Bass in dams
Post by: whiskymac on June 15, 2013, 06:41:28 PM
I have a copy of the NSW Fisheries laws and see that Bass may be taken from dams during the closed season of June through to end of August. Does Queensland's laws cover the same period and can you take them from dams in Queensland during Queenland's closed season.

Being a mexican and this is the only time I can travel at this time and need to stay within a hard days drive if needed at home, I would like some info on this. At the moment I may be near Scone and fish Glenbawn dam perhaps, but I may get up to the GC hinterland.

Not all dams here is a list of current dams that are not part of the closed season.
A closed season applies to Australian bass throughout Queensland from 1 June to 31 August except in and from waterways upstream of Baroon Pocket, Bjelke-Petersen, Boondooma, Borumba, Cania, Cressbrook, Fred Haigh (Lake Monduran), Gordonbrook, Hinze, Lenthalls, Maroon, Moogerah, North Pine, Somerset, Wuruma and Wivenhoe dams; Claude Wharton and Jones weirs; Isis Balancing Storage (Lake Gregory), and Dyer (Bill Gunn Dam) and MacDonald lakes.
If you are in the gold coast hinterland Hinze dam is well worth a visit.
Cheers
