Title: Fairbairn Dam
Post by: philnsash on November 09, 2012, 11:13:18 AM

Not much of a report but it was good to throw in a line at the local dam a couple of weeks ago.

We set up camp and then relaxed with a few Rums while watching the kids have a swim.

While having happy hour with the sun setting I got the line in the water.
I was getting bites, losing bait and having not caught much here before thought it could be a little turtle.
My husband rolled eyes and thought I was losing bait on snags.

Well  nearly tipped over drink as the rod bent and jerked.
Nice feeling bringing in the first fish I've caught in awhile.  Turned out to be a Black Bream good size (fat) with one little black spot on it.
So let him go and a couple of really good bites later reeled in his twin brother!
Mean time 6 yr old has reeled in a little Silver Perch.  It's good to see the kids catch something, as this keeps them excited about fishing.

Anyway, up a dawn the next morning back to the same spot and catch the same two fish again!
So me and my sidekick went  over to the point and all we got was snags.  Did my hook and swivel on the last cast.
Oh well, it was time for breaky anyway.

Have a couple of weekends off soon, so hope the weather is kind...
