Up near the airport in North Creek Ballina I was firstly surprised by hooking this Tailor the would have been a handful on 6lb braid, but even more surprised when the tailor was eaten by a passing shark. Must admit I didn't expect them up that far.

I suppose I could have used it for mud crabs but didn't have a trap. Just sent it back thinking "You got the best bit you may as well have the rest." Johnny I thought at first it could have been a trev because we get some good sized GT's in the river at Ballina, but the teeth were pure Tailor. You're right Fitz, the usual thing for these things is to take everything, I had a Sammy 65 taken in less than 2m of water up there once, just bit thru the leader and gone. Going back up tomorrow for a rematch.

OK no tailor, but it WAS a good fish. Went back as promised, no more bite off's but did see a 4ft shark in about 1m of water. I'm not swimming there.

If your are seeing the sharks and had that bite off encounter- there'd be a few in that system for certain. Swimmings off- You can't get sharked at the pub- or can you?
cheers,
Johnny
