C:-) I have been following this thread for a while, and I have noticed that no one has mentioned that the Water Board started stocking Lake Samsonvale long before the PRFMA was concieved. PRFMA has done a fairly good job over the years, but without the early work of just a few people there would be no "native" fish in the lake, and certainly no boating of any sort. The only thing that the Shire Council did (in the early days) was to push the Brisbane City Council (who paid for and controled the lake befoe the water board) for the sailing club, they have taken a lot more intrest in later years.

History can be important.   :-[

You're correct in recognising SEQWater in their role regarding fish restocking.  :thumb

I'm not sure on the numbers of fish or moneys invested but SEQWater (in it's various forms) was once a major restocker in SE Qld lakes, stocking not only Samsonvale, but Wivenhoe and Somerset along side of that DPI&F and the community restocking groups were doing.
I do remember there was around $30k annual budget for the three lakes combined at one stage, Somerset (due to it's far better access & therefore popularity as destination) probably recieved the lions share.
Since the SIP, this budget slowly disappeared, however SEQWater still parter with stocking groups in various in-kind ways. Example, S&WFSA have a gazillion fish coming to Somerset tomorrow, SEQWater will have a boat on the water and staff to assist in the release of bass, golden perch & silvers from 2 hatcheries....  :tick

Hows the water depth at Kurwongbah? See plenty of lilies still in the water in Dino's fishing photo's.
Ewen Maddock is down so far there is little of the reeds (Sedge?) along the edges still in the water, Baroon is down so low all of its weed is rotting in the sun.
To be honest, probably not a bad year to only stock a few fish in Ewen Maddock. Not exactly great conditions for fingerlings at the moment.

Water depth is still ok fair way to go maybe 2 to 3 meters before it drops past the bulk of the macrophytes.
First time level has really dropped through the cabomba so hard to say if it will follow it down. Most likely it would get thicker with any sort of a rise in level.
