Lake Dyer Closed to skiing & swimming
« on: November 08, 2013, 09:16:19 PM »
Lake Dyer closed to some water-based recreation from Saturday 9 November (Friday, 8 November 2013) - SEQWater

As a precautionary measure and in the interest of public safety, Lake Dyer will be temporarily closed to primary contact water activities from Saturday, 9 November 2013 due to the presence of blue-green algae. Primary contact activities include swimming and waterskiing, i.e. activities where your skin comes in contact with the lake water. Boating, kayaking and other paddle craft can still be used.
Seqwater has undertaken water quality testing and the results indicate the lake should be closed.  We will continue to perform water quality testing at Lake Dyer, and the lake will be re-opened as soon as it is safe to do so.

For further information please see the Seqwater blue-green algae fact sheet.

I wonder how we could get this algae to grow more at Somerset to get the lake closed to the doof doof, wank boats and lake lice.
