Title: Condamine River pictures - Archers Crossing
Post by: Sweetwater on October 03, 2014, 12:55:44 AM
Pictures from Archers Crossing Reserve (North side) on the Condamine River.
The water here backs up from Chinchilla Weir when its full.
Is only a few km off the highway & has mostly been graded & had some road base gravel added since my last visit. The last 200m or so is still the old black soil so this access point should be avoided if it has rained in the previous few weeks.

Can launch a boat of the bank, again remember its black soil and a 4x4 should be used even when its been dry.

In the pics you can see campers on the reserve on the southern side of the river where there is a boat ramp, cleaning table and (when I was last there), a vandalised dunny. Definately a better camping area than the north side reserve.

The Condamine River is part of the Murray Darling system so all standard species for that catchment are there; cod, yellowbelly, eel tailed catfish, spanglies & the (rare these days) silver perch.
