Title: Old Town Vapour 10
Post by: will7 on August 06, 2013, 04:35:51 PM
With bass season approaching I'm looking at getting a lighter yak for the creeks and river I chase those bass in, I currently have my Tarpon 100 that taken a beaten over the last four year and of late in area where portage is required plus loading the weight is starting to become a problem. What do you think about these little yaks or is there other out there I should have a look at.

Ray.

Wilderness Systems Aspire 100 is what I use nowadays Ray. Brilliant little yak. A little bit dearer.

Although you can't go wrong with a Vapour, never heard a bad word about them. I personally think they are ugly, never paddled one though.

There are several members here that have an OT Vapour. See what they come back with. I had the first Vapour in Oz and didn't have it long, Aussiebasser was keen on it so I let him take it and upgraded to a Camden.
There should be demo Vapour at Wivenhoe Convention you can test paddle and compare to Camden, Dirigo etc...

I have the 12, Andrew Marshall has a 10, Jason has a 12.  Yeah, they're not the prettiest Yak out there but they work.  Mine has been belted around a fair bit and hasn't let me down.  I'm rough as guts on a Yak and if I can't break it, nobody can.  They're not perfect, but then, apart from me, what is?

Hi Ray, I am very happy with my 10, as Dale said they are  tough as nails. As you use any yak you will find things that could have been done better, but I think for the money they are pretty good. Plenty to try at  the convention. Cheers Andrew.

I was going to try and make this Convention, but looks like we might be Farm sitting at that time of the year again.
Thanks again.

Or maybe his and hers matching Minnows? 2 for $800 is a good price but not sure if they want $800 each? (If so tell him he's dreaming)
