Awoonga- officially stopped flowing.
« on: June 11, 2011, 08:12:27 AM »
Boyne R at Awoonga Dam *  6.00am Sat 0.00m  falling  "At Level of spillway "
Yay,
After six months Awoonga has finally stopped flowing- the lake should change its face now and actually become a lake again. Give winter another month or so to rip the core temp out of the system and fish should start to be caught again- in numbers only guessable,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,but hang on it's raining again now so it will be interesting to see what happens in the coming days. It was nice to see the BOM site let us know it was  falling below 100%. Six months, a long wait really.

All good Johnny except for the weather forecast.

Your area is expecting up to 50mm over the next couple of days.  Reckon Awoonga will continue to go over for a little while yet...

Cheers

Pete

A pity, in some respects. I bet the river loved being a river that flowed to the sea for that six months. Our lake up the back is down to 150% btw.

Saw penguins in an ice flow on it the other day, jeez its cold atm :o

Penguins would a bit of a diet change for the Crocs Dick.
