Future Leaders in Recreational Fishing
« on: June 08, 2011, 03:18:25 PM »
The Australian National Sportfishing Association Qld and the Recreational Fishing Alliance of NSW with funding support from the Fisheries Research and Development Corporation, will be conducting a workshop specifically designed to develop the next generation of Queensland and New South Wales recreational fishing leaders. The workshop participants and mentors will explore a wide range of issues facing recreational fishing, past, present and future with a view to establishing the future direction for recreational fishing, ensuring it continues to be the popular, productive and sustainable activity for generations to come.
Expressions of interest from “younger” (nominally aged between 25-35 yrs) residents from Queensland and New South Wales, who have a passion for recreational fishing and a vision for its future.
To be considered for participation in this exciting leadership workshop at North Keppel Island Environmental Education Centre between the 17th – 20th November 2011, the selected 15 participants must have completed this application form and be available for travel between the 16-21st November, so it is important that you nominate early.
Travel, accommodation and meal costs associated with the workshop will be covered for successful candidates. More details will be provided in due course for the 15 candidates who will be offered a place at this workshop.

It's time for some young blood to get involved, us old guys need to go fishing.

The nomination form is attached.

We've had a couple of them across this way, 2008 and 2011.  They're a great opportunity and should not be passed up. A couple of the participants of the first one across here had gone on to greater things in rec fishing

Everyone, please re-post this on any other site you frequent.  We need new blood in the Recreational Fishing Leadership.

UBK, there guidelines say 25 to 35 but I can't see you being locked up for applying at 23.  Give it a go and show them that young people are interested in making a difference.  Us old farts just sit around whinging and disagreeing with other these days, you young blokes might have a better shot at it.

Can you put an age on youth, I was always thought you're as young as you feel, I must be getting old, I'm out of that age bracket???
