Blue-green algae (non-toxic) bloom at Craigbourne Dam
4 November 2013 - Tasmania Inland Fisheries Service

Tasmanian Irrigation conducts regular water quality monitoring at Craigbourne Dam. Last week (end of October 2013) the results of testing showed there was a bloom of blue-green algae at the dam.
The results indicate that the bloom is currently non-toxic.
Further testing will be undertaken this week (first week of November 2013)to monitor the situation. A sign has been erected at the dam to inform the public of the bloom.
If the bloom turns toxic the signage will be changed to reflect this and a story will be posted on this website.
