Brissy River Twin Bridges to Savages Crossing
« on: September 25, 2010, 08:26:32 PM »
WE had a quick paddle this afternoon.  Plenty of wildlife both good and bad.  Two Pythons curled together on a tree seemed a bit upset that we disturbed them.  The Peacocks were out in force, as were the Eagles.  I had a few casts and got the first Bass in the Vapour.  Got back to Savages and there were two local drunk Redneck with a little girl in the car and a pup tied to the tray in a Landcruiser driving back and forwards across the river and chewing up the boat ramp.  I asked them to stop wrecking the ramp and copped a mouthful for my trouble.  The idiot then decided he'd really mess it up and reversed back down and dropped the back wheels off the drop off and couldn't drive out, the front wheels slipped off the edge and the bonnet was under water, as was the puppy tied to the tray.  The drunks passed the little girl out the window and she walked across the bonnet to get to shore, and they got the puppy untied and threw it onto the bank.  The passenger was then trying to get me to help tow them out.  I told him not to worry because the police would be there soon, and they'd help him.  We left, but they were still stuck when the police arrived, they happened to be in Fernvale doing random breath testing.  I guess the drunks day went down hill from there.

So there are Peacocks out there, I thought I was seeing things last time I was at Twin Bridges, great to see such wild life is still around.

Good to see you caught a bass too, I'm half thinking about doing a trip out there tomorrow.

Cheers

Those halfwits are the sort that get kids, dogs & themselves killed. It's little wonder the council put a gazzillion bollars around all of the local access points to stop people destroying things.

Wish I was there, they mighta been happy to see the cops.  :o

Sel, there hundreds of Peacocks just downstream of Twin Bridges; first rapids down you should start seeing them on the left. Then bugger all after the highway bridge. They seem to ignore a quiet kayak drifting past which makes for good pics.

fitz..

I was thinking that it was fortunate for them that you weren't there Fitz.  Off to Big W for a fish today.
