There is no really successful way to fix it.  You can buy a tip section for some brands,  but not all.

Mate it could be a bit tricky. One way is to get a sleave (another piece of fishing rod) that will fit both sections snuggly, alraldite then bind then epoxy. But you would have a flat spot in your rod that will affect its action

Thats the way we do it but wasnt going to say because i was pretty sure it would effect the action of the fly rod.

Ditch it and buy a new one. Fixing broken graphite rods is hard enough let alone it being a fly rod. Just not worth the effort annd later frustration of trying to use it.

You'll find that if you try to fix a fly rod by sticking another blank up it's guts, it'll break again at the end of the inside bit.

I've got a hybrid 2 piece fly rod.

Abu GoldMax 8wt bottom end & G Loomis GLX Mega 8/9 wt top end.

This one was pretty easy as there wasn't much difference in the ferrule size, a quick bit of work with a file & emery paper & it fit like a glove.

The combo actually works quite well together.  :thumbsup

fitz..

You need to taper the spigot section so the ends inside the blank are smaller to allow the blank to bend!

Shape a bit of dowel, 50 mm each side of the break, until its a snug fit, wrap with thread and glue, araldite over the top
Try it anyway, if it works it works, if it doesnt what have you lost?
If you are near Rochedale, let me know, i have some spare parts around
Big tip there from Fitz, dont throw away broken rods, might be another use one day!

Hi ,
I'm a new member, a bit of a diy person................
I was just thinking, I should keep all those broken rods and pieces I come across.

I'd fix it with a bit of rod,  fit it 20mm each side.  use resin or superglue if you are quick.
Save a rod.....

good luck
