Lake Samsonvale Community Meeting

In June last year, Seqwater embarked on the most significant review of recreation opportunities at South East Queensland lakes ever undertaken.

You are one of the many interested community members and organisations who provided feedback on recreation opportunities through more than 2,500 surveys, numerous workshops, information sessions and submissions.

Through this process, there was community demand for more recreation activities on Lake Samsonvale. Initial water quality screening conducted during our Recreation Review indicated that additional on-water activity was not an option at Lake Samsonvale.

However, given the strong community interest in accessing the lake, we are now undertaking a detailed assessment of the lake to better understand the impacts of different activities on water quality, as well as on the North Pine Water Treatment Plant, which treats the raw lake water and supplies safe, high quality drinking water to the community.

We are inviting you, and members of the local community, to come and meet members of the independent team conducting the assessment. The meeting will not discuss the outcomes of the Recreation Review.

Please join us:

·         Monday 15 December 2014

·         6 pm – 8 pm

·         Bray Hall Community Centre (Main Hall), Corner of Cooke Street and O’Loan Street, Petrie.

Members of the independent team conducting the assessment will be on hand to provide an overview and explain the process. You’ll have an opportunity to raise your questions about the water quality assessment over a neighbourhood BBQ.

Please register your interest in attending the event before Thursday 11 December 2014 by emailing Seqwater Community Relations at events@seqwater.com.au or phoning 07 3035 5500.

It was mainly to explain how they have developed their models and to introduce the people involved.
Reading between the lines my interpretation is
no swimming
 no petrol
yaks possible but launch place unknown maybe upstream
The question time was taken over by a w@nker from one of the councils on the sunshine coast who mainly wanted to talk about coolabin so limited opportunity for locals who wished to speak up
Also looks like kurwongbah may be looked at again.
Cannot remember much else.
Dunno about future of sailing club and PRFMA
Cheers
Ray
