Go Fisheries! Great to read this article! Well done to all the staff at NSW Fisheries Compliance!!
I guess the amount of infringements handed out in such a short period of time really does show that illegal fishing in the Macquarie area is out of control (June 11th to 13th). I hope we see a lot more of these patrols and clamp downs in weeks to come, especially when the weather warms up and the number of people illegally fishing on the Macquarie will quadruple, like it has for many summers gone.
They say we have 90% compliance in the area, I think 17 infringements and 3 warnings in three days in one of the coldest months of the year shows that this statistic is absolute bull s#%t!

I am bloody sick of bogans like this with their bloody set lines or "droppers". I came across a couple along the Dumaresq last year who complained that their droppers had been cut off by some blokes going past in kayaks. I replied to him as evenly as possible that he should be grateful the it was only his droppers that had been cut off! I also mentioned that if he's been pinged by fisheries his car, caravan and anything else they might lay their hands on could be forfiet. The arrogance of these clowns continues to astound me and says very little for the overall IQ average.
