Title: Lake Barambah (Bjelke Petersen Dam) Fishing Report
Post by: Editor on December 10, 2014, 10:59:56 PM
Lake Barambah (Bjelke Petersen Dam) Fishing Report - from Yallakool Tourist Park

Lake Level 51%

FISHING
The fishing was very good this week with plenty of Bass being caught as well as good numbers of Goldens. Most success was had with hard bodies in the 10 to 15 foot range around ridges but some Anglers were also successful with worms and salt water yabbies. Redclaw started to build up in numbers but not full pots as yet. Fridays storm meant Angler numbers were down but those that braved the conditions left very happy. The Yallakool Kiosk is now stocked with a full range of tackle. Smak and Austackle lures in particular have proved very successful at BP Dam in the past week.

As of mid January I will also be working at Yallakool, giving Andrew & Meredith a hand with the day to day running of the camp. Look foward to all you Sweetwater fishing folk dropping into the dam for a fish & say hello.

Cheers Andrew

I'm ashamed to say I've never fished Bjelke, looks like I'd better change that soon Andrew.

I have not been there  since 2012.   But fishing is looking up there now so may have to check it out.  Use to be may favourite dam.  Caught some unreal fish there and numbers prior to 2011 floods.
