Title: Baby Bass
Post by: BrisBassMan on October 07, 2010, 12:18:43 PM
It amazes me sometimes at what a baby bass will try to eat.  This little guys came from a creek near me and hit that lure as hard as he could.  Needless to say he didn't prove to be a line buster.   :o

Check this hungry spangled out guys, picked it up trolling at 5 metres.
I didn't realise it was on there until I noticed the lure not swimming properly, thought it had picked up some weed!

Cheers

That's about the equivalent of a bloke eating a labrador in one bite!

I reckon if those spanglies got as big as jack do they would be awesome.  I one a while back that went 23cm and he hit and fought well above his weight.

G'Day Fitz,

Yeah mate thats a Voo Doo, thats the way they paint them these days, you can see the words Voo doo on the side of the lure.

I have caught quite a few spanglies on voo doo's and other lures in Nth Pine Dam, they are a very aggressive little fish.

A mate of mine has been catching garfish on a smiling jack lure, not just one but a fair number, some of the gar are not much longer than the lure.

Cheers,

John.

Yeah Fitzy it is a Voodoo as Obi-wan said. I Got it off Luc about 18months ago. I have a spangled in a tank and it just eats any other fish you put in there with it, really agressive. I have managed to house a sleepy cod in there with it for the last 9 months, I think the sleepy has it over him now.

This sort of thing makes you wonder a bit about the thought process of a fish. It's like me picking on the biggest bloke in the pub. I've have rat Bass do that a number of times and had bream hit lures  designed for Jewfish. It's fish eat fish world down there.

Hi John,
Thanks for the info. I would have gone blissfully unaware of the name in the paint pattern. Knowing that it makes my original question seem a bit stupid, its there like a dogs back wheels.
Good lures  :thumb

Cheers,
