I was killing some time at Adventure Outlet down on the Goldy on Friday and Craig the owner showed me something new on one of the kayaks he stocks.

Its a removable pod for a sounder that houses the battery as well.

A very tidy arrangement that still allows the transducer to be mounted below the kayak. As well as easy removal for storage if for example, you were doing a surf launch, it would easily fit in the forward hatch.
Its on a long kayak called a Thresher.

I wonder how long until the clone yaks start copying it.

Yes, a nice little innovation.
Yes others will copy it, unfortunately it wont be identical, just pinch the idea - be really nice if it became something standard in size so you could move about to any yak!
