ansa and igfa line class idiocy = potential slow death for fish. Then add the element who seem to think they need to stab a tag into everything that swims. You end up with a question mark over the health of a fish caught them released. An ethos that light line class is sporting makes me cringe. And this "there's taggers and braggers" often regurgitated by ansa mob is a total toss.

qafca are no better; kill it & gill it then show up to the comp weigh-ins. The sooner that generation (and thinking) dies out the better.

I reckon the sport is in the hunting of a fish with a lure or fly; bait is rarely a challenge in freshwater not to mention boring (ok for kids but). Hook the fish on good line, get it in quick, make a decision if you want to eat it and if you do, kill it quickly and get it on ice.

What I think is worse are people who fish in their "free time" as if they are in a competition then brag about their  "bag" they got that day. This is most prevalent with Bream Tournos and wanna be Tournos who continually upgrade their livewell whilst unnecessarily stressing out fish that sit in there all day. Made all the worse by being display spread out in a net on the deck of their boat then all being released at the boat ramp way away from where they have been caught. Right into the mouths of waiting pelicans trained to hang around for a feed by their repetitive selfish ego driven behaviour. Cheers Pat.
