These pretty little pests are alive and well in the upper reaches of Somerset Dam.
Did they spread into Wivenhoe and the rivers below. If anyone can give me an update it will be much appreciated fellas.

Pretty sure these would be in big w after the floods unfortunatly and pretty much everywhere else

Before the floods , spotlighting at night around twin bridges , you used to see plenty of shrimp,rainbows, pacific blue eyes , Tilapia ( from 5mm to 60mm ) along the edges up and downstream of the bridges . When the ribbon weed grew in the fast water , often you could spot more than a dozen lungfish grazing in that weed .
Since the flood , its a ghost town . Flat out spotting even a shrimp or a gambusia . A good torch will spook the spangles working the fast current upstream of the bridge.
Yet to see a Pearl in the river , I used to keep them in aquriums when I was younger , they were sold as Brazilian Cichlids back then.

It's good to see someone monitoring the river like that. They will probably spread there one day. Let's hope they don't build up in numbers like the Talapia.
Interesting to see how long it takes for the river to come back to normal. It was like that up past Linville also after the flood. May have to check that one day soon.
