Nature Communion via Jungle Perch
« on: August 25, 2011, 10:02:52 PM »
Barra weren't the only thing I chased while up in Townsville in early August. I part own a property that backs onto the Paluma Ranges - beautiful granite gorge country - sooties on the western side and Jungle Perch on the eastern side. Magic country, the fish arn't big but they live in beautiful surrounds, taking it all in while wandering solo further and further up the creek, tosing surface lures into often skinny water - is a close as you can get to a physical meditation based communion with nature - albeit occassioonally interupted by smashing strikes (see post in video section) - to quote a Budist Monk I met in Vietnam who I showed some granite creek photos to - The mind following the mountain stream toward remote country - Vien Thuc

JIm,
Loverly country there mate, your mate the Bhuddist Monk may well have been a fisho. I like those blokes. Looks like you'd have to watch your back cast in there too.

Great spot there Jim - a very lucky man. Thought I might add this pic some Buddhist monks I met on a river bank in Cambodia last year - a very humbling experience. Pat
