Title: Magic Mary
Post by: Paul Dolan on September 02, 2013, 08:55:22 PM
Opened the Bass season on the Mighty Mary River and had a great time with good mate Brett,1st fish for me was on surface fly only a small fish but great a way to start as I just love fishing for these great fish on fly especially surface.

We went on to catch plenty for the day on a variety of lures and flies but the standout lure was the Ecooda Live Shrimp the Bass in tight nasty structure just love them I had one fish hit 4 times before it found the hook.

I love fishing tight heavy structure and these lures rigged weed/snagless are perfect for the job.

Here's a few pics from the trip

Looks like a good day out Paul. I've only used that Ecooda in the salt so far, but with the weedless setup I've been thinking about chucking it into the lillies on Clarrie Hall.
Cheers,
JD

JD do it mate you wont be disappointed and fished slowly with small twitches like a shrimp moves in Clarrie Hall will be deadly, this lure would have to be them most versatile and productive lure I've ever used I cant find a fish that wont eat them, they are awesome around timber and weed

A great opening session PD. Some nice looking country on that river.

Not much rain about lately, how was the water level / flow?

Fitz no flow mate and a lot od damage to the river banks but that's normal given the amount of water that went down it,nice a cleen at the moment and we saw a lot of the takes great fun,the trusty Husky worked well again on a few fish.

Norm it's only a line storage device when talking bass. that's all I use if for,and no I wouldn't palm it off to someone that wouldn't be nice it does the job  ;D
