the local i ran into had also told me saratoga breed and he has seen them at churchbank weir which is almost completely underwater at the moment. i fished below the wall today will not do it again. i didn't see a sign on my way so i didn't know. sorry guys should have probably checked that out online. still haven't seen a ranger down there but have seen some of his cigarette butts. i cant believe that.

Legend Fitzy! was googling images of qld native fish trying to figure silver and spangled out. I got a lot more bass then anything else.

Is that exclusion zone up the top of the dam only? Is it not just a fishing/boating thing to stop ppl going over the wall? I considered paddling up to the bottom of the wall in the canoe when I first arrived. But after a few casts was having to much fun.

exclusion zones for maroon and moogerah dam are 200 mteres above wall and 400 meters below these are my locals thats why i know

I think the two headers from boonah are on the wild grass too much saratoga where stocked but never established a breeding population according to studies , This was back a fair few years ago in the 1990's around the time of the last stocking of MRC in maroon and moogerah.

extremely slim chance of a relic survivor toga but highly scepticle

could have been an eel and he could have been telling fibbies. the only way to know i spose is to catch one or spend countless hours and catch nothing. by the way atomic bream shads and celtas (yes those trout lures) were dynamite today.

Robbie and i were at Moogerah saturday, fished through to mid day, for 3 bass on spinnerbaits, then got sick of being wet.
Nice little lake.

Moogerah was the second of the SEQ dams to have Saratoga translocated into this was around the mid seventies.
There were a few caught up to around the early eighties, hooked but did not land one in 79 on a celta while fishing for spangles.
Shooting them with rifles was popular with some locals at this time  :o

cheers
Steve
