Major Upgrade Completed to Four Springs Lake Boat Ramp

The upgrade of the boat ramp at Four Springs Lake is now completed. The IFS applied for funding from MAST’s Recreational Boating Fund in 2010 and $45K was allocated to the project.

The application by the Service was in response to increased popularity of this water and the number of small boats using the lake. The project aimed to improve the existing launching facility through the construction of a duplicate ramp to facilitate simultaneous launching and retrieval of two boats and also to provide a landing specifically for boating anglers. Whilst the ramp has been constructed, the landing will be completed in time for the 2011-12 angling season. This will free up the existing jetty so that it can be used more readily by shore based anglers. The project follows on from the car park extensions previously undertaken by IFS to accommodate angler demand at this water as a result of improved fishery management and performance.
