Map showing access points to the Mid & Lower section of the Brisbane River. Doesn't show the real rustwater sections of the lower, just the bass water.

Here's a few pics from May 2011 , going from the Lockyer Creek junction up to the last large pool at Atkinsons's Crossing just below Wivenhoe Dam's spillway .

continued..
Be advised , there is a small log jam at the top of the last big pool. It may be a problem for those wanting to launch kayaks/canoes from the spillway common 'if' it ever reopens .
Cheers,
Dave.

Update. Map in first post has been updated.

Update.
Access to the Brisbane River is possible via Skyline Drive at Kholo.
Will need to park at the road & walk a short distance through the mown park land to the top of the river bank. However from the river bank to the water is over grown with lantana & is steep.
I'm sure a couple of clever folks could put a machette to good use & cut a track down to some pretty good looking water.
See map below showing location

Some pictures of the Lindemans Road river access point in Lowood. Kayak and canoe friendly only ( the track and bank is too steep for launching a tinny ) .
