Warwick Region Fishing Report 14 May 2014
LESLIE DAM: Leslie Dam saw a few quality Golden Perch landed on Jackall TN60's on Saturday Morning. Bright colours seemed to be the most successful. Anglers also had success trolling hard body lures up towards the "Black Boys". Most of these fish were landed in approximately 4 metres of water. There were also a few fish caught up near the dam wall on shrimps.
CONNOLLY DAM: Connolly Dam continues to fish quite well, with anglers picking up some nice fish over the past week. Anglers caught these on both lures and bait, with spinnerbaits being the most successful for the lure anglers and saltwater yabbies working the best for the bait anglers. With the cooler weather now upon us, the magnificent Murray Cod should start to really fire up. Over the years, Connolly has seen some nice Murray Cod caught. Just remember the legal limits for these beautiful fish.
MOOGERAH / MAROON DAM: Moogerah has seen plenty of Bass over the past few weeks. These fish have been located in approximately 50 feet of water in the main basin. Anglers have had difficulty in enticing them to bite. However, anglers have had success casting the edges with lipless crankbaits. There have also been some fish caught in the timber on blades and spinnerbaits.
RIVER AND CREEKS: There were some nice fish caught to the west of Warwick, with some quality Golden Perch landed on spinnerbaits. There were also some nice fish caught in the town area, with the Mill Hole producing some quality fish as well as downstream of the Scots Weir. One local angler also landed a 64cm Murray Cod in the Condamine River just to the east of Warwick. The very popular Jackall Pompadour accounted for this fish.
