Title: Kayak Fishing Brisbane River (fernvale)
Post by: Yak Fish on June 18, 2012, 11:57:22 AM
Hey guys, just started to get into Kayak Fishing and the closest location appears to be Twin Bridges. I've caught countless amounts of catfish but nothing else, so just wondering if anyone knew about the species of fish here and how to catch them and give some pointers on kayak fishing thanks  :youbeauty

At the moment, Catfish and Golden Perch are about all you can target at Twin Bridges.  The Bass season is closed, so you cannot target them.  When the season reopens try fishing with 3/8oz Tandem Spinnerbaits amongst the snags.  There are plenty of fish in that stretch of river.  Also look through the reports section and you'll see plenty from both Shines Road and Harpeng Road.  Both those access points are close to Twin Bridges.

They also go by the names of " Heart Attack Hill" and "Hollywood Boulevard". Down in the river between these two launching spots is "Russell's Sticks" , one of the most productive parts of the river .

There's also The Bends & Beavers that are good for Yellowbelly......
