Warwick Region Fishing Report 25 Feb 2014

LESLIE DAM: Leslie Dam has seen mixed results over the past week.  Anglers experienced the best results mid week when conditions were quite good.  Te bait anglers were having success on live shrimps and saltwater yabbies, while the lure anglers were seeing the best results on blades, crankbaits and spinnerbaits.  The windy conditions over the weekend didn't do fishing any favours, with not too many reports of fish being landed.  One local angler managed to land a couple of nice Golden Perch up in the protected area where the dam begins to narrow.

CONNOLLY DAM: Connolly Dam continues to fish quite well with a couple of local anglers managing to pick up some nice Golden Perch over the past week.  Most of these fish were landed on mask vibes. Crankbaits also accounted for a few fish.  Anglers using bait also managed to pick up some nice fish on worms, shrimps and saltwater yabbies.  There were some quality Silver Perch landed on the eastern bank towards the dam wall.

MOOGERAH / MAROON DAM: Anglers have reported on landing a few nice Bass at Moogerah.  Early morning seems to be the most productive time, with anglers fishing the points and bays towards the southern end of the dam.  Anglers also reported on landing some nice Bass in the timber on live shrimps.

RIVERS / CREEKS:  The river and creek systems in the local area continue to produce some nice fish.  Anglers are still landing some nice fish in the Pratten area, mainly on lures.  One local angler also managed to land some nice Golden Perch and removed a massive Carp, measuring 71cm, out of the Condamine.  Spinnerbaits and Hydrobugs are working well, with crays and shrimps working the best for the bait anglers.  There were reports of some nice fish being caught in the river around Texas on bait and lures, some weighing in excess of 30 pound.
