Family Summer Fishing & Kayaking
« on: January 14, 2012, 11:33:21 PM »
Gotta love this time of year when the bass get fired up and there are some holiday breaks to give you time to chase them. Did a five hr kayak with the family down a local creek recently - only caught a few bass (least my kids did >:() - but also saw some beautiful Eastern Cod - all around the 75-80 cm size range - result of late 90's stockings - son has been yabbie chasing (and releasing) in our back yard creek too - some monsters there!!

G'Day Jim,

A great report mate. Is that a spiny/mountain cray the lad is holding? It's a whopper!!

And ugly to boot!

What a lovely bit of water. I'd love to do that with my wife and kids, but I fear it would become something more along the lines of "Deliverance" than a fun family outing!

Gr8 report Jim, what an awesome part of the country. Whoa that's a big cray, your boy is going to love taking that pic to school for show and tell!
