Title: Tinaroo is Waking up
Post by: Brett Guy on October 15, 2011, 06:52:05 PM
Hit tinaroo in the yak today to chase a few Barra. As I hadnot been up since before winter I really did not know what to expect even though the weather at the moment is pretty much Ideal. We have had a NW flow for the last week Bringing air temps of 35 deg or more at times which not suprisingly has raised water temps quite quckly. I have to admit that I was feeling lazy this morning and didn't hit the water untill around 9.30. The biggest surprise was just how low the water level was and the second was the colour. Very dirty. And not that good dirty that you see after heavy rain but rather a murky sick looking colour that makes you think that the water has just rolled over. Anyway 4 hours fishing produced 2 hookups with one fish landed. Wouls have stayed longer but was chased off the dam by a pretty solid storm. For some reason I always feel exposed when on open water with graphite sticks and lightning all around ;D. Fsih lost was around the metre mark give or take and fish landed was bang on 90cm. Not a stella day but not a doughnut either.
