Title: In search of the Unicorn
Post by: StevenM on April 14, 2011, 08:12:38 PM
So I got sick of seeing all Daves pics up top and all the phone calls and texts and sent pictures so we made plans to head out to the Crik today to find that Unicorn.

Unicorn you say, yep that bloody 60cm bass.(sorry for all you lads trying to crack 50)

So off we went to spot X to hunt the suckers down

We both got into double figures but that unicorn eluded us. (another reason for a crack and not mowing the grass)

Here is a few pics of Daves fish. Not all but just to wet the whistle.

This is Daves rendition of Bear Grills saving his lure out of a tree about 12 foot up. Funny thing was that he saved it and two casts later he put it up there again.

This little puppy went 54 and gave me a great sleigh ride

Bloody rats

Another of Daves fish

Then I got this rod snappin horse that went 55. Still no unicorn.

Anyway, thanks for the invite Dave.

Lets get out there and chase that Unicorn again soon

The Unicorns are there ( I have seen a photo ) , just have to wade through the 50's and the cattys to find them.

Thanks for a good arvo .

Cheers,
Dave.

Good session mate, the water looks just as grubby as it does down here in Lismore. I wouldn't be too worried about the Unicorn tho, they're supposed to be extinct. I'll settle for a 55 any time.
Cheers

Keep trying you'll find them on day, then you'll need to set another target.

G'Day Steve,

Good report mate.  :thumbsup I've been looking around the area a bit lately but haven't been fishing yet, just looking. I'm thinking the time is about right to give them a whirl & to be honest I'm more excited about shooting for a unicorn (Ex Wivenhoe Bass) in the river over easter than driving to the Boyne to get a barra in the yak.

hhhmmmmmmmm 11 days break over Easter....where to go.....??? Cod, Barra or Unicorns??? Maybr all three.

Fitz..

Strech yourself Gary, go for the full house. I'm heading to Far North Qld for about a month in May. Be a bit too far up for both those venues.
Cheers mate,
JD

Dave.

Dunno Steve , I didn't bother with the brag mat  .

Caught up with Toni and her friend Luke this afternoon out in the river . I think Toni's a bit rusty from all that salt water work she has been doing . Someone had vandalised her fourby when she got back to the parking spot though , left empty Icebreak bottles and some fishing propagander lying all over it. ;D

Cheers,
Dave.
