Wivenhoe downstream
« on: May 18, 2013, 01:01:18 PM »
Well it was worth coughing up a lung launching and retrieving the kayak (just) to finally explore an area that's been on my to do list for a couple a seasons.
Spent the arvo sounding out some likely spots and picking up the odd Bass and Yella on spinnerbaits, found a couple of prime looking spots in the 4 odd k's I sounded but settled on one that looked the most promising for the last hours fishing, swapped over to a vibe and from then on it was a fish a cast, all good quality with the best nudging 570 (with a bit of tail squishing). For those interested in the vibe it's a shimano undurator that's no longer available (I bought the last 5 in existence that I know of)  :)

Cheers.

A great report, thanks for sharing. I'm down cod fishing (and getting bugger all) at the moment.

I should be back up there getting some end of season bass.

Which ?Undurator? The rattle or no rattle unit? I've got 3 of each.

I got of them sitting in my tackle box never blooded, I bought them for $4 or $5 each when they were selling them out!

That's a silent but the rattlers work just as well if not better, they certainly were a bargain, unfortunately with all those trebles they're prone to snagging and we'd regularly lose 2 or 3 a trip so with only a half doz or so left I'm pretty selective as to where I chuck 'em and am throwing a lot more spinnerbaits now.
