To those of you that are unaware what we all knew as the Wivenhoe Kayak and Canoe Convention will not be held this year. Garry Fitzgerald the Organiser and Promoter of the event can no longer do the event due to a number of reasons, more or less he has run out of steam and lacks motivation to continue. Fair enough Garry has put in enormous efforts year after year and the event had become a must do on the Kayak Fishing Calendar each year. I applaud and thank Garry for his efforts over the years, well done mate!
A few of us have decided the weekend must go on, not as a full blown competition but as a Get Together where we all Meet, Camp or Day trip at Captain Logan's Inlet to catch up with each other, have a drink, a yarn, a fish...nothing serious. All that will be asked that you bring one lure to the value of $15 to be collected as prizes for the best fish caught on the weekend and maybe some booby prizes too, however this in not mandatory.
So that's it, come one, come all and continue the tradition on.. and if in the mean time that things might change, we are all booked and ready to go if someone else decides to do it or Fitzy has a late change of heart.

Permits: A Stocked Impoundment Permit(SIP) will be required to fish the dam.
That's about it at the moment, I would suggest to make a booking ASAP to secure you site. I will be arriving Friday and I imagine alot of others will be too, however Saturday arrivals are fine too. More information will come to hand when available. We would prefer to make the weekend as simple as possible and concentrate on having fun and socialising with a bit of fishing thrown in.

My lure was just over $15 winner will love it might throw in a few lures I haven't got around to opening. A bit over 3 weeks to go! Can't wait
