Wivenhoe Dam Report - 11 August 2012

Went to the wind jockey club at Hayes landing yesterday and payed my membership. (Still irks me that this publicly paid for facility is shut to the public)

Thought I'd take the tinnie and run the sounder for a couple of hours since I was going. Was out in the middle of the flats when I dropped a cell in the main battery, luckily Basser n Pam were out there as well & leant me one of their spares.....  :thanks

There were a few half decent shows found on the Humminbird but kept moving to get an idea of what's happening. Best shows  I found were found between the Horse Paddock and Brad's Point and then some good fish were suspended in the river bed along the steep banks east of Dead Tree Point. Some really clean shows of what I'm guessing were big yellowbelly or maybe cod in some rocks along that rocky cliff there as well.

Only had maybe 20 casts all up, for one hit but no hookup.

Lake is offically back up to 100% but with water coming through the board on the bridges at Dundas, I'm guessing it's a little over 100%.
Despite the Ekka Winds forecast (15-20 S/SW) the lake was mostly a glass out with the occasional breeze. A nice arvo on the lake.

Now to buy get some new batteries....... been wieghing up the cost Vs lifespan & low weight of lithium batteries..... :-\

Thanks Fitz for the wrap up, I might give it a go at One Tree again this week....So you mean from One Tree down to Hayes landing as in the rock edges.....

I fished One Tree to Hayes today.  Got a 38 and a Forkie.  I was the only boat on the lake.
