Bass Fishing Lake Wivenhoe in Kayaks
« on: February 23, 2012, 08:02:39 AM »
Here's some video shot on Lake Wivenhoe with fellow sweetwater member & Wivenhoe gun,  Nativeman. Forgot I had this video until a few days ago when I found it cleaning up the external hard drive.
Both kayaks are altered version of the Ocean Kayak Peekaboo I designed to accept a minn kota in the centre instread of a viewing window.
Cameras used were an Olympus camera in video mode & a Go Pro helmet hero with fish eye lenz for the head mount stuff with. The GoPro has terrible audio recording if used inthe full waterproof case, you will see the difference in the video.

I watched this on tube you last night and thought ,,. im lazy enough to want one of those kayaks :youbeauty

Can you take the minn kota out and replace it with any type of floor plate or would it be hard to make one ?

Great bass for the both of you

Mate these are a modified Peekaboo kayak. The motor can be pulled up & out in seconds or not used at all if you just want to paddle it tho the hole is still there. You can take out the motor mount & put the clear window back in in just a few minutes.

I've seen a couple of standard Peekaboos that have also put a lid on the well area so that its one big tackle storage area.

Cheers,

fitz..

A couple more videos of same kayak below

Would be good to see a review with pictures of the ins and outs of the yak with what has been modified on it . I could only find limited info on the net so will ask here.

Do you have to buy the minn kota and set it up yourself or readily available, From what i gather its still in prototype mode.

Seems the perfect combo for crossing dams on calm days or taking the motor out to paddle a creek. More info for the public is what i guess im aiming at for these i think there great.

You should be able to buy the complete set-up from Charltons at Redbank.

Peekaboo Angler is the name.  Choose your Minn Kota size and cut it down.
