Warwick Region Fishing Report
« on: September 17, 2013, 10:26:58 PM »
LESLIE DAM: Leslie Dam was a little quiet over the weekend.  However, there were reports of some nice fish landed on lures.  One local angler landed some nice Golden Perch, largest measuring 50cm, and an undersized Cod on Jackalls and spinnerbaits.  The bait anglers are still landing a few fish just opposite the dam wall.  Shrimps prove to be the most successful bait.  There were also a few fish landed on salt water yabbies.

CONNOLLY DAM: Connolly Dam fished very well over the weekend.  One local angler reported landing some nice Golden Perch on salt water yabbies.  He also landed some Catties as well.  The most successful time being late in the afternoon.  Another local angler and his daughter had success on mask vibes, landing 16 nice fish on Saturday afternoon.

MOOGERAH DAM: Moogerah remains fairly consistent with the school of Bass still located in the main basin.  We also had reports of some nice fish being landed off the edges while casting Jackalls.

RIVERS / CREEKS: There has been quite a bit of action in the Dalrymple Creek to the west of Allora.
Local anglers managed to land some nice fish over the weekend.  Anglers managed to land a few legal Golden Perch and Silver Perch on Sunday below the Racecourse on bait.

G'day,

This is probably late, but what bait was used? I'm going up to Allora in about 2 weeks. How far west of Allora is the racecourse where the creek is?

Cheers, Bondy

Bondy I have just done a bit of Google map searching & I believe the racecourse he is referring too is the Warwick race course. You can follow Dalrymple Creek road west of Allora & it crosses the creek a few times. Don't know the area myself, maybe those that do may be a bit protective. Google maps can be your friend. Hope the weekend went well.

Cheers Andrew

G'day Andrew (A.Marshall),

Thanks for that.

I did look at Google Maps earlier. From what the author was saying it was just West of Allora, looked like a different bearing and a few klms.

Yeah, they are a shy mob. I'll let you know how I went.

I might drop in to see the author / company of that report and see if they received my message.

Cheers, Bondy
