Rumour has it the Shimano are bringing out a dedicated Kayak rod in the Raider range. I haven't seen one yet, although they may be at the Tackle Show at the Gold Coast. They even come with a lanyard. Should be around the $100 price point. While I'm not a huge Shimano fan, the Raider rods have proved to be very good value for money.
Keep annoying your Tackle Shop to get them in stock.

Could it be the new the Steve stick of choice ? :OMG

Sounds like good news, hopefullly supply will be more reliable than the Gladiator rods.

Charlton's has a heap but not the heavy model in the BC version, I took three of their hands today, 2 bc and 1 spin. Now I just need another cod fix or wait till the bass season to start to try them out.
Cheers

Yeah, the distributor let them down on the 8-10kg ones, apparently didn't import enough in.
Be careful with the lighter ones, they will get any Bass or big forky yakside, but they snap very easily if the fish takes another run while the rod is in a high position.

Sorry Dale, hijacking your thread...
Here is some pics. as attached
I did buy two spin jobs but I got a call from Steven M on the way home who suggested to me I should have got two bait caster ones. So I went back and swapped one spin. So I have two BC and one spin. And the best bit is when I got home I went through my fishing cupboard and found a Daiwa Fuego BC reel I bought from Wayne D a while ago, I had totally forgot about it. It will be perfect for Bass and Cod in the rivers...
On the other BC rod running a Shimano 50e reel, how sweet are they and the spin one well just a shimano symetre 1500...I have a Daiwa Freams 2000 here, I might actually put that on..
Charltons sell the rods for 79.95 if you want to get one, stocks are selling fast..
