Caught and released this little blighta (juvinile ) in the upper reaches of the brisbane river
but not sure what it is .
can some one identify it for me ..
It doesnt look like the pearch i thought it might be .

Yep it's a Spanglie.

looked through a couple of books to identify the fish and one had every perch
except the spangled , is'nt that always the way..

Thats odd ... Spangles have to be one of the most prolific of all the perch .. just my opinion

Yeah i agree , was looking at FISH AUSTRALIA published by EXPLORE AUSTRALIA pty ltd
as well as FISH FOR SUCCESS
Im basically new to the fishing game and after retirement went off to dymocks to find some authoritive books,
am basically happy but if you know of something i should be reading give me a shout , im open to any suggestions
